Mmmm... Let me doubt about that... :

From what I've seen, believe me, the new 32SS has an aggressive Deep V and can't be compared to a standard Dominator or a Fountain in the rough. The 32SS has an Innovator Hull which is a different beast.

The 32SS is, in my opinion, A PERFECT BOAT
Congrats to SUNSATION for such an incredible achievement!

I'd suggest a 31 Sonic or 32 Active Thunder. Both similar in size and architecture. Velocity and Fountain have relatively flat decks which will severely hamper your headroom in the cabin. The Sunsation does have a great cabin on the Dominator, and even better in the SS, but that is a newer boat. The Sonic and the AT will have a lot more room due to a raised deck. The boats you have mentioned are all great boats, but seeing you are down near in the salt, you will want FWC motors, so probably 496 Mag/HOs. There are plenty of 31 Sonics out there, but they are not going to be new enough in your price range to have 496s. Of all the boats you are looking into, the Velocity is going to have the most jarring ride in the rough, whereas the slightly bigger and heavier boats like a Sonic or Sunsation will give you a better ride.

Both good boats. Still, the AT is at least 3' longer than the 31 Sonic. AT's are huge boats!

take a good look at Active Thunder. i looked at al the above, wasted 2 yrs doing it, A.T. has the cabin/ the speed/ and if you have kids the free board is the best. i was looking for 30 to 32 ft rough water boat. w/dry ride. ended up w/ 28 ft A.T. its bigger than most 32s. and factory support could not be better. great boats. ride in one you will want nothing else.........

If you are running the bay and the rivers, you may not need a boat that big.
28 might suit your needs. You can also get away w/ a single in a 28.
Trailering will also be easier w/ a smaller boat(if you trailer).

Stormrider, I wish I could get away with 28 feet.
But, running the bay I need atleast 32 ft and 35ft is better.
The twins are for the long runs. Can limp home or to dock
with the kids in the boat.

Don't buy a 35' Fountain because its has 35 written on it. Its only a 32' boat.
The Sonic has an integrated platorm, so its really only 30' and most have a notched transom.
The Sunsation 32' Dominator is the same deal.
The Active Thunder is a 32' boat.

The one with the most freeboard. So everybody,(including you) feel safe(er) in rougher water. Especially with waves pounding on the sides and transom.

OK... 32AT 33 powerplay...or there are a few 35 cafe's for sale on boattrader.
or stretch: http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/8/5/80889885.htm

i wouldn't worry about fresh water cooling. Looks like you will be spending time in brackish water, and you should flush after every use.
