Looks like I'll be leaving around 9AM to get there in time from my house......according to mapquest they say its a 3hour and 49min drive....of course thats assuming you drive 55mph i think, cause i've never taken as long as they have said Has anyone been there before from Chicago and how long did it take to get there? I'm thinking just over 3hours doing a solid 70mph the whole way...maybe faster on the straights!

I have been to the Formula plant once--about 5 years ago. It didn't look like a boat manufacturing facility at all. It looks like IBM headquarters or something corporate. It's (by far) the nicest boat building facility I have ever seen. I would have to say that nothing even comes close.
They had a transport area with trucks lined up in neat rows, and they were clean, new trucks. Very impressive to say the least.

Don`t forget that they are an hour ahead of the Chicago area so take this into consideration when planning your travel times.

whats the quickest way of getting there? Should i stay on I-90 to 69? or should i take US-30 from Valperaiso?? taking US-30 cuts almost 50 miles off the trip....but i dont know what the roads like......lots of stops?? towns? lower speed limits???

Wally I think it's a toss up. 30 is 4 lane but there are some areas you will have to slow down for traffic lights. We are about 50 miles south of Ft Wayne right on 69 and I tried Rt 30 from Ft Wayne to Chicago towing the boat and didn't care for it but in a car it wouldn't be bad.
See everybody tomorrow.
Roger is right about the time change and now for the first time we will be changing on Sunday to be on eastern time.
