No its not an April Fools joke!.... Formula Boats has been gracious enough to open the Plant to the Chicago Powerboat Club for a Saturday tour. They are normally closed on weekends, but it will be open for us to see all the in's-n-out's of the factory. Anyone that is interested needs to please register on-line at www.chicagopowerboat.com
Once at the home page click on "Event Calendar"
When that page loads up click on "Future Events"
And then click on "Spring Fling/Formula Plant Tour"

This Tour is open to ANYONE that wishes to join us. And is FREE! You do not need to be a member of the club BUT we need people to register so we have a head count to give Formula.
Also for anyone that may be traveling and wishes to stay the night, Formula has set us up with their discount rate at:

After the tour we are planning on dinner:

Buffet/Dinner(Back 40 Junction): $20.37pp
includes: prime rib, ham, turkey, smoked BBQ brisk, chicken, white fish, shrimp,...........and we have our own private dining room. We will have raffles and prizes that evening.

The tour will begin at 2:00pm and dinner will be at 7:30pm. There will be a cash bar at the dinner. All locations are on the same street.

So please join us for a fun day of seeing and talking about what goes into the boats we all love!

We go every year and it's great! And the Back 40 Junction is a wonderful retaurant.Great bar too for those that are interested. Do you know who will be handling the tour from Formula?

I know the Porter Family. They run a first class operation. I also used to go to college with and hang with one of the daughters. It was hard being die hard Cigarette and her family owning Thunderbird

They are first class family running a first class operation. The factory is beautiful and only 20miles from here.

It is a annual event that our club tours boating business. Last year we stayed at a resort in South Haven and tour Skater factory. This year Formula. Next year we will try Mercury Racing but it will have to be on a Friday for the tour and indoor water park on Saturday.

Time is counting down!! Next weekend is the tour and we need those that are up in the air about this to sign up if your planning on going. The better we can nail down the count of people the easier it will be for the guys at Formula and the restaurant. So lets get on it and sign up!!!

I want to say a personal Thank You to the Chicago Powerboat Club for opening this invitation to everyone.
I signed up me and the wife last weekend. Don't think we're staying for the Dinner & Bar crawl, we've got a 3 hour ride home.
Looking forward to the factory tour.
Also look forward to meeting some of the people that hang out here.
