I applaud your respect towards our side. You have also made me more aware of your side's viewpoints. And I DID enjoy our telephone conversation.
I would like to officially welcome you to OSO, aka, the "dark side".....

If only 3 senators had voted the other way it would be a different story. If there is a serious accident involving high speed or a performance boat, it will go the other way.

I agree, lets all give everyone a good berth and let them know that we deserve to be on the lake with everyone and are as safe if not safer then the other boaters. If you see a friend being a dope smack them

I'll chime in with a big Thank you to all involved - especially Custie for the emails and making it easy for me to email the senators.
My boat can only barely go over 45 (and that's by Speedo!) but this law would have been ridiculous.
Hope to meet some of you this season in my slow boat.

The 'boat safe' emails made me think that posting this link may be a good idea.
For those who boat on Winni and are not up to speed on the details of the laws, if you are 43 years old or younger, then you are required to have taken and passed the NH Boating Safety certification. You can take the whole test online and it only costs $15.

At the *very* least, please take a look at the practice exam and refresh yourself with the right-of-way rules. I would say that by far, right of way and passing rules are the most violated of all on Winni... and by doing a better job here we can demonstrate that speed limit laws have no place.
Thanks again!!!!

I think that we already do a good job policing the situation, but one area we need to watch is visiting performance boaters. We all know or hear when some big power unmuffled boat is there for the weekend. You can hear the boat in the channel and all across the lake .Unfortunately for us, after that boat is gone, we are left with the mess it creates. Noise complaints and a new hate for us start all over again. I tell all my friends visiting to buy mufflers or dont bother. It,s the only way we can try to keep everyone happy.

Thanks again, we all appreciate what you have put into this fight!!!
Let's all make sure to be courteous and safe on the water this summer, so we don't have to face this issue next year.
