Which upper would you preffer?

XR (remanufactured)
or
IMCO Xtreme SC

This will be going on a 4500lb single engine boat running an IMCO 2" shorty lower.

IMCO is rated higher. If you do the max machine worx upgrade to the xr it would probably work. just my .02.

Merc has a new gear set out for the XR. Vastly improved

I was speaking to Dean at the Bravo Shop and he liked the x gears over the xr. I am debating on what if any gear to change my uppers to with a Bravo shop 2" shortie.

The Imco extreme has several advantages over the xr, the top cap is stronger, built in cooler, heavier housing , ect
