I really don't care which place is worse or not, that wasn't the point. Anybody can disagree, just do it without calling people names. Doesn't seem to be too hard of a concept does it?

Re: Relocating

You are needed in MS. I moved from Racine/Milwaukee WI 8 years ago to the Coast of MS. If you like FL. but want it about 10 years behind the times, this is the place. Because of Huricane Katrina all the garbage has been taken out, literally. This area will become another Gulf Shores,AL -Destin FL. with New Orleans flair. The Casinos are starting to rebuild and there is enough work for the next 10 years. Ths area was starting to boom before the storm, and will see realestate pricing up towards Florida's with as much if not more to offer. Dont get me wrong, I like FL. but prefer MS better. Have your wife talk to us, if interested. Good Luck. Jeff

Hey Scranton was a great place to party if you didn't fall into a mine. Grew up about 5 miles from there in Clarks Summit.

It depends on where you live. I have no traffic in my town to speak of, yet I'm only 35 minutes to Orlando, and 30 minutes to Daytona.

I have got to get out of here the traffic sucks, i spend a half hour every time i leave our development just to get to a road that i can travel east and west on,and than another half hour to go 2 miles east or west.I miss this town when it was slow.

Cuda will tell you, but I can somewhat speak for it, my parents live like 15 minutes from Cuda and I lived there for a number of years. It's one of the nicer, quieter areas of Florida, and prices are still very much on the reasonable end of the spectrum. I really like the whole Deland/Deltona area.

I was up in Gainsville Georgia a couple months ago and really liked that area, but don.t know if i am ready to go that far north yet.I have got to make a decision soon since i am getting serious about building a house on a lot of mine that has sat empty for years.Girlfriend says sell every thing and move any where but here in bonita.

I don't know what they are going for now, but I'm sure they are still reasonable compared to the rest of the state. The average real estate has gone up 26% here in Volusia County since I moved here. I refied my house for $50k more than I paid for it in just over a year.

Warm weather, lots of sun, lots of water, tell her to move her butt down here with you. :D

And the same for Texas. Don't believe me?, just ask Clay.

Good Luck

It depends on where you live. My parents move from MD to FL 10 years ago. They love it, though every time I talk to them they complain about how hot it is. In the same breath he likes to tell me how Florida doesn't have an income tax.

Anyway my old man has taken up a new hobby...building and selling houses. He doesn't actually build them, but rather finances and manages the construction. Right now he has a nice house for sale for $200K south of Bradenton, Florida. The real estate market in that area has slowed down quite a bit recently so the prices are coming back to earth. As part of his "job" he deals with subcontractors. An electrician could do quite well in Florida...as well as anywhere else in the country where there is a housing boom. But if you wife doesn't want to go then that's a problem!
