Anybody know about these R/C boats?

My son bought a 50" vee off of ebay. It has nothing with it. I am familiar with the nitro motors, but not the gas pull start ones.

Who builds the best gasoline pull start engine and hardware for this thing?

What is the price and where can you get them?

Call outerlimits powerboats 401-253-7300

They have a complete scale version of XXX available, but they can probably lead you to parts and acessories

You need either a large nitro motor or a gas motor. I wouldnt recommend the nitro motor because it will be much faster and much harder to start, tune, or fix any potential problems. That leaves us with gas engines. You can get these to go plenty fast and almost all have pull starts. You can take a weed eater or edger motor that is about 25 to 30 cc's. The best motors can be found on ebay and are called Zenoah motors. A little expensive but worth it. Homelite is a less expensive option that will run pretty hard. Just make sure you get a motor with a water cooled head. Zenoahs come with this and homlites have conversion kits. Finally you will need running hardware. This is the hard part. You will need to ask around to get the right stuff depending on what engine you choose. Ask the person you buy the motor from or a hobby shop.

towerhobbies.com has a lot of gas stuff. I think I got the flex shaft and stuffing box there. did a homelite conversion, zenoah is the best but not in the budget. Also they have a lot of hardware , rudders , radios, dry box for your reciever and servos, props.

If I'm not boating, I'm RC boating. The best gas engines out are the Quick Draw engines, 25cc's and making 8hp at the prop! I have a Zenoah in my Outerlimits GTX replica, it only makes about 4.5hp but it does about 45mph. www.mhzusa.com, Bonzi, www.whobbies.com, www.aeromarinerc.com, www.marinespecialties-rc.com, and www.rcuniverse.com, and www.jrcbd.com are all great places to find parts and rtr's for sale. Now you guys got my son and me both excited. I did not know the gas engines had come along so far. They are pretty cool looking.
