What boat is this?
2 Attachment(s)
I have an easy idea of whose boat this is (owner's of Rachels duh) :D but since I'm no expert, I'd thought I'd put it up here. To me it looks like the steps are pretty far back and they're not very big ones. The basic shape makes my amateur eyes say Outerlimits, but OL uses 4 steps, or I'm thinking Scarab, not sure, you guys are the experts. Either way, if this guy isn't on here, we need to get him on, I'm sure he'd have some GREAT things to "share" with us in the Uncensored section :evilb: :evilb: :evilb:

Re: What boat is this?
I'd say Nortech. I helped pay for that boat. :)

Looks like an Outerlimits to me.

Re: What boat is this?
When did OL go to the quad step? This boat only having 2 steps really through me a curve ball, so I don't have any clue on the age of this thing. I thought Scarab too because I've noticed from looking at other Scarabs the steps were farther back.

47 OL,Thats the boat that the chick who ruined Keith Eickert and ran him out of biz, and took his name. I can't remeber her name. I almost bought that boat when it was blue and white. The guy who ownes it is cool but a little flaky. The last time I talked to him he spit out about 3 diffrent prices for it about 175K apart.

Re: What boat is this?
If you look closely...... do you see the small step betwen the two large steps?? and I would guess if you had a different angle you may see a 4th step behind the last large one. My eyes may be deceiving me but from the picture posted I am seeing that 3rd step in between.

Re: What boat is this?
This boat is a Marine Performance rigged 47 outerlimits(1999) originally built for Frank Algire in Chicago....Julie bought it from him,and the Viegels aquired it at bankruptcy auction, when she finally crashed and burned. We still do work on it,as it has very complicated fresh water cooled Eickerts. This was also the first time quad rotor whipples were tried in a marine application. They didnt work well...(we lost 8 blowers in testing) and it was finally converted to 14-71 bds's.Its a good peice till you approach 110,at which point ugly things begin to happen, mostly violent chin walking, with the feeling that the transom wants to pass the cockpit. It is for sale,Tommy just freshened the power...its in realitively good shape, and i think is making a showing at Barrett-Jackson in West Palm this weekend.

Re: What boat is this?
I looked at the boat before he painted it. Yes, it is Julie's old 47 OL and it was beat when I saw if a few years ago. It needed everything! My guess is that it is still in need of a lot of work! I heard the engines run, and also learned (was told) that above 100 mph was very scary as it has a messed up CG.
Rachel's is the name of the owner's strip clubs in the Orlando area. |

Re: What boat is this?
If that is julies old boat it is a 47 OL, which only had a pair of steps in the old days. The CG can be taken care of, which would cure any mis handeling.
That era hull has ran over 140 , smoothly so I would say a little tweaking would straighten out any handeling issues. That exhaust looks "small" must be quiet. |
Re: What boat is this?
I wonder if Jim was able to get the stench out of the interior............

Re: What boat is this?
He owns a few go fast boats, this is just one of em... I believe he still owns a 33 scarab AVS and possibly the 42 scarab with triple 600's, but not sure about that one. I knew he had bought Julies boat but thought he sold it a while ago. One thing, if he is EVER close to you on the water at anything above 20 MPH get AWAY FROM HIM....FAR FAR AWAY.... he just about ran me over twice because he was not paying attention to where he was going, and thought he owned the water. It was not a pretty sight.

Re: What boat is this?
Original owner Frank purchased the boat new. He had 3 BIG A$$ rudders on the rear for steering/stabilization. Frank purchased a new Kenworth to pull the 47OL. When BS JS bought the package, Frank purchased a Peterbilt from us to tow his new boat. I was asked to tow the 47 to Daytona when Frank sold it to BS JS but too busy at the time. I have pix later showing the rudders.

Re: What boat is this?
not the best pix but ck them rudders

Re: What boat is this?
Yep,
I remember that boat being @ Marine Performance back in 2000, when Julie had it. Funny part was somebody made her a ~6" tall "Box" to stand on so she could see bow over the dash. And yes, that boat was abused when she owned it! :( Dean |
Re: What boat is this?
I thought it was Big Scotty's boat!

Re: What boat is this?

Sorry to bump such an old thread but if anyone is interested I ran into the current owner of this boat on Lake Chickamauga in Chattanooga TN today. He claims the boat runs 148:rolleyes: and that he will take $150k for the boat right now. He has left it sitting in the water for the past couple of weeks so its fairly dirty. If anyone is interested in purchasing the boat after reading this thread I have the guys number that owns it. PM me
|
Does anyone know what happened with this boat ?
|
Did the guy ever sell the 1999 47 Outerlimits
