Byran,
Is your property on the river itself? Crystal River is BIG Manatee country! The Manatee regulations there are just as bad as they are here in Brevard county. I have never been there, but like others have spoken here, it's becoming more populated, hence all the bellowing from the waterfront property owners, (we own 2 waterfront properties in Brevard Co. and we don't ***** about boats, that's what living on the water is all about IMO!) and of course the $MC propaganda machine spewing BS about the Manatee's pending exstiction! Hopefully, the Manatee/idle zones don't get any bigger!

Dean,

The property is not on the water, seven miles or so from it. Frankly, I'm not in a position to have two "Big" boats. One up here and one down there.
My father has a bass boat that will be down there and I'll probably buy a small center console to keep down there.
I am guessing that after I build a barn, I'll keep my Fountain down there for the winter.
I've got to get my sh*t together so I'll be in a position to keep my boat out of the weather when its there.
I've never boated in salt water much less around Florida. I'm really looking forward to it.

Get a pontoon for the river. I'm about to do that here myself. Deb and I went out in the jon boat the other evening for three hours, and I just about couldn't stand back up when I got out. I just told the guy brokering my Checkmate that I'd take a pontoon on a trade.

I don't know where, but it's on the Homossassa. Here's the front side of their "river cabin". :p

just come a little south and put in at hernando Beach or Hudson Beach and head south. Awesome area down to Clearwater Beach around the gulf to Antclote Island, Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island. Lots of boats and white beaches.

That's normally what I do.

Stayed in the perfect place this weekend. On the beach with parking and docks across the street to the ICW and a boat ramp next door.

Never gone that far without using the interstate or toll road. Probably at least 2.5 hours up 19 from Clearwater Beach if that helps.
