Re: Imco Sc Vs Teague Platinum

I had 640 each in a 1990 31 Sonic (heavy boat) with Bravo 1s and had no problems. Easy out of the hole and on waves.

Imco...no warrenty
Teague...warrenty???

Maybe look into B-Max

Konrad.... no failures :D

Re: Imco Sc Vs Teague Platinum

Out of those 2 I would go Teague. He backs up his warranties, if he offers one for the drive. Imco has a bad rep with warranty. If you can spend the $$, I would try the Konrads, they have an excellent reputation.

I Have Never Heard Of Bow Lifting Gear Cases ? I Am Aware Of The Lack Of Warranty On Imco But Does The Teague Have Warranty I Have No Idea. Does Someone Know If It Does ?

Teague warranties their drives if you buy an engine from them. They say that they should hold up to 800HP

Does Anyone Know How Much The Konrad Setup Is Vs The Others. Imco And Teague Are Close In Price.

Imco...no warranty
Teague...warranty???

Maybe look into B-Max

B-Max has a one year warranty on 950HP and 950TQ at 15000lbs and you can get a extended warranty for 2 making it 3 total.

If your easy on them at 640HP I would think a Bravo 1 XR would hold up ?

I have been running my B-Max's for 4 years and I am trading in them on the new HT B-Max's with the crescent lowers.

What is the price of the Teague VS the Imco drive???

KONRAD aCE IS THE WAY TO GO, THEY HAVE NEVER HAD A FAILURE, THAT SAYS IT ALL, WITH THE 650'S YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM, AND THEY ARE ALL PRICED VERY CLOSELY.

At least I found out my revlimiter wasn't working, bent all the exhaust valves. I had it tested and I was told it was a bad heat treat. I sent it back to Teague just to see what they thought, that was 3 years ago still haven't heard from them.

You won't break the new IMCO Xtreme Advantage 1000's. Look at the ads in all the new magazines...

Isn't teague just a xr that's been reworked??

Re: Imco Sc Vs Teague Platinum

Mine is an XR upper and lower, my brothers has the XR upper and Imco lower, both have Teague Platinum stickers on them. My new drive came with a used lower case, I didn't know until I repainted it, found all the salt water pits filled with bondo.

Re: Imco Sc Vs Teague Platinum

Bought a brand new teague platinum complete drive and it did not even last 20 hrs. 700 hp and no way was the failure due to poor driving habits and was never in big water. Called them and got nothing but a bunch of supreme B.S. As far as I am concerned they will never see another penney from me. And all you here is how great the co. is ---- them.

Re: Imco Sc Vs Teague Platinum

The Teague, IMCO and Max drives are all refined XR's. Some have good luck, others don't. I had bad luck with the IMCO's. :(

Jassman 04-18-2006 05:38 AM

Re: Imco Sc Vs Teague Platinum

I second that. Alot has to do with the size or length and weight of the boat. The power given in that application, and mostly driver error. WITHOUT a TRANNY, none of these bravo style drives will live for any given time. Jeff
