Default Jacksonville, NC boating info?

Anyone in the area? I'm taking a road trip with a friend this weekend to water test a boat(34 Viper). Gonna have a few spare hours on Saturday and wondering what spots we should visit. It's 1050 miles one way so we're probably gonna be looking for a watering hole once we arrive.
Thanks
