Thankfully no, I do keep the bag in a compartment down in the cabin and have them out often when working on the boat in the garage. (just easier than getting the regular set off the shelf) I've kept them like this 2-3 years and only put them away DRY!!!

I have a tough nylon tool bag that i simply don't leave on the boat. It comes off the boat with all the other crap. I then put it in my trunk, because i always like to have some tools with me......

This is the bag: http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog....3021&SKU=92180

I've had it about 10 years. It's had a rough life, is pretty dirty, but not a rip or worn spot.

Don't make me laugh. The good tools are in the garage. I am looking for tools for an emergency that may be used once in a blue moon. The other "boat" tools I had were used twice in 18 months and could not believe how corroded they had gotten. Just looking for any feedback from someone that has a set they keep on the boat. Maybe you could just give me your cell number so if I have a problem on the water you could come out and show me how to use my "tool". :D

I see you live in Chicago and have a 47 Foutain. What year is it? Were you killing the drives on that boat or on your past boat? I see your nice comments about Scott from Shogren. I read some of your old posts about Scott helping you out late at night with your "tools" . I guess it will be nice to know that is the kind of support I will have from that dealership. I am going to see Scott on Monday to look at a 47 they have for sale. Hopefully you will have some nice weather up there for me.

Magnum Mark's company sells a really nice tool/bag for the boat. I can't remember the name of the company though. You can PM his wife LUCY here on oso to find out.

I use a softside bag (from Sears), like t500hps. Put tools away dry, keep stored inside the cabin, and you won't have any rust problem.
