Need a Tow Vehicle

Been driving pickups for years and ready to move on. Always drove them b/c I needed something to tow my rig however, so tired of the bumpy ride, parking hassle, poor gas mileage, etc.

So, I am selling my '05 2500HD and going to buy a sports sedan. However, I still need a tow vehicle. I was thinking I could spend around 16-18k - suggestions? Am definitely thinking Diesel and am leaning towards a Ford. I was thinking I could get something with around 100k miles and since it will only be used intermittently, will last me a good while. Any suggestions?

Rich...been a while - how is it going? Are you a chevy man? I wouldn't rule out a chevy however, I have heard a Ford powerplant is a bit more long lasting than a Chevy however, have heard the opposite on the transmissions....

Probably 6k with full gas, trailer, etc. That is why I opted not for diesel in beginning however, hgas powered trucks with 100k miles are usually not worth spending the money on.

The only thing about a diesel with over 100K on it is they are very expensive to work on. I had the turbo pedistal and some other minor things go out of my old 99 PSD and is cost over $1500 to fix. The truck had 90K on it so it was fixed under warranty. After that expisode I sold the truck. Just food for thought.

You should be able to get into a nice low mine 02-04 Chevy half ton for that kind of money. It would tow your Nordic fine, I used to have a Heat and my 02 Avalanche pulled it fine.
