Default Best boat buying experiences ?

The ink is barely dry, but I can't get over how smoothly my recent purchase went.

1. Seller (Tom) took me out for about a 1/2 day sea trial. Went thru every last thing on the boat with me and gave helpful hints, tips, etc. for the first time boat buyer.

2. Tom had all the required maintence - and a lot of preventative maintence on the boat done BEFORE listing it for sale.

3. We agreed on a FAIR price. I didn't steal it and he didn't make a "windfall" (to use a current buzzword) on it either.

4. Stayed in touch every few days about the paperwork, etc.

THE ICING: Today Tom calls me and tells me that over the weekend he had the boat detailed inside and out, carpets cleaned, vinyl conditioned. He left all the accessories with the boat including some very nice life jackets, and other small things. Had the mechanics go over the boat one last time to make sure everything was in order and filled her up. I didn't ask for (or expect) any of this.

Anyway ... so far this has been the best (knock on wood) used car/motorcycle/boat buying experience. Thanks tom, good Karma is coming your way.

KW,
Are you having it trailered to Harbortown, or are you driving it to HT!

we're driving the boat. don't have a trailer or anything that can tow a trailer (damn BMWs) ... plus, might as well have fun.

Cool! Where are you driving it from? I always thought that would be a cool way to take delivery of a new boat!
