Did anyone else see this? TAOD & Outerlimits?

That's cool  . My only question is with the relatively small amount of boats that OL builds a year (20-25?), that's not much of a workload for TAOD I wouldn't think?

I read it as OL is the only direct manufacturer tie that they have, but you could still bring your projects to them independently. Someone here will know. Makes sense though. Now have a contract with 24+ brand new OL per year that will bring the most intricate, custom and expensive paint/interior jobs in the marketplace. At the same time still having the ability to do other project.

It always struck me as being odd why someone, like Formula for example, never contracted them to design their themes each year and then maybe did the same as OL did for a smaller number of custom boats.

Can't wait to see what comes out of there next. :drink:

How long does it take to design and finish a boat? They have to have a couple weeks or better into each boat, right??? That's 40-50 weeks worth of work, that almost a year.

That is cool. Now I can see all the new OL's. I work about 2 blocks from TAOD. Which by the way, is the only the only thing that is worth seeing in Elkhart IN!

Congrats OL and TAOD! :drink:

Mine has been in the paint shop (Guardado Marine) for 11 weeks. There are minimum 3 guys on it at all times. Now that we are close to deadline, I have yet to walk in the shop and not see at least 5 guys on my boat. Prep time over 250 hours to get the hull mirror smooth. They have well over 1200 man hours on my boat and it's just about ready for clear. When I first got the price I almost fell of the chair. Now I see why they are priced the way they are for top quaility jobs.

Actually, it is my understanding that TAoD did advise and provide technical services for Formula's paintwork. Ultimate control of the paint schemes was still under John Adams and Formulas control, though.

Sounds like 20-25 boats a year is quit a work load then.
