I am a fairly newcomer here and to powerboating but I heard of the name Aronow for the first time in 1989. I was doing an internship with the US Customs and was assigned to a show we were doing in Chicago. I sat all weekend on a US Customs pursuit boat that was built by Aronow. If memory serves, it was powered by a big Cadillac V8. The driver of the boat told me how the boat would run 60mph in 5 footers which I found amazing. This guy looked like he had never come out of the sun. A face like leather (sorry if your out there but you need some lotion my friend). He also told me of the builders murder after being recruited by the US Government to build fast boats. Just curious but was the murder ever solved or anything more than speculation? I feel that I may be treading on sensitive ground here if any of his friends or family are reading this. I in no way mean to offend. Its just somthing I hadnt thought about in 12 years and the post reminded me of it.
And yes, I did try and get a job driving one of those boats. That would absolutely rock!
