I used to live there, there is a vertical cliff where the boat sank, I cannot see how this could have happened unless, she just did not take control of the wheel, and just hit the rocks below the cliff.

It seems that the man went below and left the woman at the helm. The next thing he knew was when the yacht hit the rocks.

The Captain's an idiot. He left an inexperienced boater at the helm in dangerous waters. Idiot!
