Default TRS Trim Cylinders

Does any body know where I can get a pair of Trim Cylinders for an 1988 TRS Drive. I think I need new seals but want to investigate the option of just purchasing replacements. Thanks

I went through this once and don't remember the price for new ones but I think you will be painting yours and replacing the seals. It's a very easy job. I bought four kits from Dollar Marine and they even have the decals that go on the sides to make them look like new.

Lucky Stike has them I believe. You can rebuild them piece of cake also.

BAM has best price and service on the cylinders--but you'll be surprisd at even his cost. If you can rebild them do it.

Also becareful of no-names and super low prices--they are knock-offs and worth less than they cost.

Been ther/done that---Marc is best for parts, support and price for this sort of stuff.

Any hydraulic shop can rebuild and test them for you if your not interested in doing them yourself.. The kits are not real pricey if you want to do them yourself or if you send em out, and Merc has em in stock...

There are two kits, the one for the cylinders with external lines should cost you about 9.50 each, the internal line cylinder kits should be about 13.75...

Whats the procedure for rebuilding them? Do you have to remove them from the drive, take them to a work bench and take them apart? Or can it be done while still attached to the drive?

You take them off the drive, Unscrew the end caps, pull out the entire unit. In a clean location there are some things that need to be taken apart inside. Some units have a number of small bearings and springs that you have to pay attention to. It takes about a hour to rebuild one.

They can also be replaced by the Konrad rams. It's a direct replacement and is a beefier ram.
