Installing snaps in new cover

Where is the best place to get the right tool to install snaps in a new cockpit cover? I have the one that uses a hammer, but there has to be a better way.

They make a special set of pliers but I bought a set of anvil that attach to a vice grip..not the best but work for the couple snaps I had to install. How many snaps..if more than a few I vote buy the tool or take to canvas shop and bride them with 6 pack to install them for you.

Wish you lived near Tampa. My dad was in the garment/fastner biz for 35 years. He worked for TRW-DOT Fastner. I have the tools and a boat load of snaps!
