My two don't even question wearing a jacket because like a seatbelt in a car, THEY HAVE TO WEAR IT!
Its also the law. That also makes it easier to get them to whear them.

You hope she is hurt? I think you need to rewrite this thread.

I work in the emergency field responding to these "accident" are always hard for everyone involved. Especially when it is preventable! My heart goes out to the family of the little girl.

T500 I hope you talked to your kids about the importance of life jackets and what can happen!

It is a tragedy to lose a child at such a young age. But it is a bigger tragedy if we don't learn from other peoples mistakes.

Lt.

OK..correction, I hope she is ONLY hurt, After 30 minutes or maybe more underwater that would be great news considering her condition when she left the beach. We were all praying, but no one there thought she was going to make it.

My kids were oblivious to what was going on 50 feet from them. Made it harder to stress the importance of life jackets. I spent a few minutes with each of them seperately to discuss this at their age level.

James River between Richmond and Hopewell. A cove locals call the "Gravel pits" because of the tugs and digging that goes on in the area. The excess sand is piled up along the edges creating a beach.
