Re: easy way to remove engines!
get the glue out
|
Re: easy way to remove engines!
Can the sides be repaired at full strenght w/o chance of cracking? (Thinking all the structual strength is in the bottom)
Also 2nd the why the drives were left behind? |
Re: easy way to remove engines!
no way
|
Re: easy way to remove engines!
Motors must have been real nice if they walked away from those drives. There is a special place in hell...
Frank "Of course if you don't tighten it, well, we can fix anything but stupid." |

Re: easy way to remove engines!
Sure seems like maybe they got caught or were afraid they were getting caught, there is still quite a bit of stuff left on the boat.(Not $55k worth) Definitely weird that they didn't pull the drives and boxes.

Frank "Of course if you don't tighten it, well, we can fix anything but stupid." Hull was cut open on each side and motors stolen. Boat HAD 900SC's. Boat has Imco Advantage Extreme drives, but no props. Tri axel Trailer is included. Trailer is steel, has brakes, and a GVW of 5400. |
Re: easy way to remove engines!
Car thiefs ! No respect for the Boat or probably even know what the rest of the equip. is. I don't see how a boater would have the heart to do that to any boat. :(

Re: easy way to remove engines!
I saw (no pun) that done here a few years back ..they took a chainsaw around the gimbals and under the motormounts and stole the whole packages.. Left the boat behind a local supermarket where the cops said they did the removal
|
Re: easy way to remove engines!
Wow, so what did they use that they had to cut the sides out? Fork truck? Seems like that was the hard and noisy way to do it. Easy enough to remove the hatch right? Stupid robbers I guess.

Re: easy way to remove engines!
If that's the same boat and it looks like it is, that happened in Tulsa before the boat show two years ago while waiting to load into the building (overnight). I heard they thought it was drag racers that just wanted motors.
|
Re: easy way to remove engines!
What a shame.
|
Re: easy way to remove engines!
I'd say they used a fork truck to lift the engines. Or some kind of cherry picker with a low reach. Maybe a wrecker truck?
Either way it's a shame to ruin the hull like that. |

Re: easy way to remove engines!
I believe that is the same boat from yhe Tulsa show< it was stole outside the Expo Center, and found north of Tulsa on a country rd.as seen in the photos. My wife was headed to Tulsa the day it was recovered, saw the law enforcement looking it over Aprox 100 yrds off of 75, brave bastards! I think that boat was fixed and is now on Grand Lake

Re: easy way to remove engines!

How is that possible, when it shows a current bid deadline of 06/02/06? |
Re: easy way to remove engines!
If this is the same boat, which I don't think there are 2 that this happend to. The boat was at the tulsa fair grounds for the boat show, several years ago. Mac the owner of Hi Lift Marina built the the motors wich had prochargers. Some one must has previously seen the engines and knew where it was going to be. They took a chain saw to it in the parking lot.

Also 2nd the why the drives were left behind? actually looks to me like it can. if that cut went to the hard chine maybe not but it only looks like about 18 inches or so down the freeboard. its a flat panel with plenty of access for reinforcement and looks like no stringers or bulkheads were touched . i wouldn't have any problem doing this for my personal boat but i don't believe that should be repaired and put back out into circulation. just my .02 cents. (damn . . . now I'm broke  ) |

That is kinda strange.......I follow that site pretty regular...and I bought a boat from them a few years ago.....and when something sells ...Its usually gone from the listings page that day.....they keep up with it pretty closely.....strange... |
Re: easy way to remove engines!
its not the same boat.
