I dive off a 22 foot Seacat with twin 140 Suzukis.Love the convenience of the walk through transom and you can,t beat the ride.We go to CaySal bank from Marathon quite a few times a year with four people on board and i 'll tell you what it is hard to believe you are on a 22 foot boat.Even with all the weight of 4 people and 12 tanks and enough beer to get a small country bombed it still cruises at 30 through 3-5 footers with reasonable comfort and tops out at 40 if the waves are in the 2-3 range.Plain and simple you can,t beat a cat,but i would go up to a 25 footer if you can afford it.

Ohs one more thing the cat is like a little performance boat, lightly loaded it will run 50 and is an absolute ball to go jump waves in.The ride is like riding on a cloud when the boat is lightly loaded.

Florida Gator, if you want a really super nice CC with a useable dive door you really need to check out Intrepid.

intrepids have the side load door which woudl make getting on and off the boat much much easier. It would be my first choice for any CC, especially for diving.

I never had experience with CC's before, but Steve gave me the keys to the OSO Spectre for an afternoon when I was down there in February. I was really impressed with this boat. Lots of room and great handling for a smaller boat. I would seriously consider this for a knock around boat if I was in the market for one.

I would definately stay with a performance type hull. I can only afford one boat and still prefer cruising and hitting different rest/bars (boating responsibly) and taking overnight trips.

I guess I knew a cc was more practical. Just hoping I wasn't missing something in the performance boat world. This is a little disappointing since I almost ruled out a cc.

Did you look at the smaller Sun Sports from Formula? Think this would be a nice compromise for what you want to do.

Yep, the side dive door on the Intrepid is awesome! Heck the whole Intrepid boat line is awesome.

I have not been on the water in a 24 Spectre CC but my Fountain dealer in St. Pete sells them and the finish work of the ones I have seen are just as top notch as the Cat's.
