1 statute mile is 0.86897624 nautical miles.

1 knot = 1 nautical mile per hour = 6076 feet per hour
1 mph =1 mile per hour = 5280 feet per hour

So whats between Nautical and Statue mile. A real mile?5280

I can't even fathom why they use nautical miles. It makes my stomach knot up.
