need some opinions on my project.
I own a 1972 Performer 24'. Its a 23.6' Deep V with 24 degree deadrise hull. It use to be I/O. thats long gone. Now it will have Twin Mercury 3.0L 225HP carbed engines sitting on a custom platform with 24" setback. The engines are under work right now and will soon be 250HP each.
http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrow...der_id=1593279 Here is my question. How fast do you guys think this boat could go with twin 250's ? Is this hull a good go fast boat? or should i stick to a fast fishing boat? Thanks guys... |
Re: need some opinions on my project.
interesting project there and welcome to OSO. not sure i would classify that as a very agressive offshore hull. i think you are right in thinking fast fishing boat. that looks like a pretty large volume hull with a great deal of bow area, sort of a blunt angle of attack. i would also guess that it is somewhat on the heavy side which will help you in rough water ride quality. looks like you are doing a great job on it, keep us posted on the progress we love this kinda stuff around here
by the way do you have any pics of the deck and cockpit and what is the history of that hull, i've never seen one ? |
Re: need some opinions on my project.
Looks like a knockoff of a Formula 233. But I'm bias'ed, I think everything is a copy of the 233 :D :D :D
How much rocker does it have? Does it have the turn down at the transom between the chine and strake? |
Re: need some opinions on my project.
How fast did it run with the motors stock, then we can guesstemate what it may run now.
