Yeah, it may not be on their boat, but it is the advertising:

11-19-2005 "Congratulations are also in store for the Rio Roses Fountain factory team that captured the world championship with the new 46' race canopy and a pair of prototype Mercury 1200 horsepower engines exclusively provided to Fountain."

Little strange I only see 1 or 2 articles for 2006 under the TEAM FOUNTAIN RACING NEWS... This time last year there was 6.

If any Fountain deserved a World Championship win this year, it was ON THE CHIP !
Unfortunately they fell short. :(
They sure as hell tried!
They have earned my respect with that boat....
But from what I hear, it suffered some major glass damage along with the other Fountain, Strictly Business...
Time to break out the grinders and resin buckets... :( :( :(
I look forward to seeing them both run next year!

BTW,

Is Muscle and WAZZUP part of TEAM FOUNTAIN RACING ???

Dont forget Jimmy has 3 broken ribs :( But they ran unbelieveable

The lay up was compared last weekend. Outerlimits continued to race on for the Championship while the Fountain had to be brought home for repairs after the collision...

Where the damage on the Muscle? I can't see. You mean the drive broke, that would be hard to finish a race.

What was the Fountain Racer's ammo this past weekend?

If you can't beat slam 'em ???

I spoke with the Muscle crew and surely that was an accident.

But here Yachts Fountain admits to hitting Lucas on purpose?

Were they DQ'd for that???

"The Yachts Fountain crew admitted they struck the Lucas boat on purpose because it was squeezing them on the turns.

''I had no choice,'' Allegre said. 'Do I back off all my life? No. I tell Michel, `Don't back off.' And we pass. So we pushed him.''

Ya know, I believe in Florida a comment like that is proof of assault.. Team Lucas has too much class to press charges though I'll bet...

Come on now  :D car racing and boat racing aren't the same. its not like you can jump out and walk away after someone hits you at a turn pin. and at the pin if your the lead boat the #2 should pass on the out side if you he is any good . if he hit me and said in the paper what he said he would be missing a body part for it :D , its like the indy cars F1 trying to trade paint your asking for trouble ,a boat spins out one guy drowns that team should be kick out nexted year wow. :(

Re: Has Outterlimits ever won a world title???

Tim, Tim, Tim,
I stood all I an Stansk and I can't stansk no more. 1st of all Joe Scro's talents and experience are very well know and respected. 2nd of all this World Championship chatter is a farce, the new boat has raced in Vegas with 1 competitor and Destin with 2 the 1st day and 1 the 2nd( the rest of the year was in the old Fountain) 1st day bumpy, 2nd day flat. If it is so fantistic how come we couldn't invade there race with our old beat up resin bucket? ya know like they did to On the Chip, Traffic light and the other boats that ran OPA all year. We, Strictly Business, On the Chip, Traffic Light, Wazzup, Delicate Sound of Thunder, USA Auctions, Papa Dukes, Joker,Crime Pays and the rest of ours teams ( please forgive me if i didnt name eveyone) ran every race as fast as we could no matter how rough it was and were all beat up by Destin. Still I didnt see one team in any class pull back the throttles no matter who built there boat. Yeah we got a stringer to fix , Chip needs some work too, but we'll fixem and be back next year, so watch out! Mean time we'll see next year, after a year of racing which boat is the world champion. The guys driving them are all world champions as far as I'm concerned. Oh before I forget, my cousin is coming over for Thanksgiving, he's the top camaraman for the wide world of sports. I want him to look over your pictures and critique them, see if there's room for improvement and the such, see who is better you or Jeff, get some competition going that involves denegrating your hard work. You getting the picture Tim?
Well I'm ordering some of your pic's tonite cause I like them.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Louie

BOATING KEY WEST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Final boat race matchup grows testyBY SUSAN COCKING
[email protected]

ANDY NEWMAN / AP PHOTO
THREE WIDE: Lucas Oil, front, dominated all competitors to capture the Super Vee class at the Key West World Championship on Sunday. The final race for the Super Vee class title at the Key West World Championship briefly turned into naval surface warfare between the French and English on Sunday. But when the spray cleared, the English boat -- Lucas Oil -- emerged the victor.

Yachts Fountain, the defending Super Vee world champion, bumped Lucas in a turn during the ninth lap, damaging Lucas' gunwales. Then both boats lost power in one of their engines, allowing Joe Boxer Patron 57 to cross the finish line first. The fourth entry, Shogren Performance Marine, dropped out early.

But Lucas -- owned and throttled by British native Nigel Hook of San Diego and driven by James Sheppard of Sussex, England -- took the checkered flag with a total of 950 points for the three-race series. Lucas won on Wednesday and Friday and finished second Sunday. Joe Boxer -- with driver Chivas James and throttleman William McComb, both of Sarasota -- was runner-up with 907.50 points. Yachts Fountain, crewed by Frenchmen Michel Karsenti and Serge Allegre, came in third with 812.50.

Hook was jubilant at winning his first world title in 15 years of offshore racing.

'Winston Churchill said, `never, never, never give up,' '' Hook shouted. ``This was well hard-fought.''

He was not upset about the collision.

''I don't hold anything against them -- even though they are French,'' Hook said. ``They're great racers, very competitive, and they weren't going to give up.''

The Yachts Fountain crew admitted they struck the Lucas boat on purpose because it was squeezing them on the turns.

''I had no choice,'' Allegre said. 'Do I back off all my life? No. I tell Michel, `Don't back off.' And we pass. So we pushed him.''

Miccosukee Indian Gaming overcame a melted outboard engine to win its first world championship in the Stock Class on Sunday. Owner/driver Daren Schwartz of North Miami and throttleman Troy Hannon of Davie limped in on one outboard, finishing second to rival Deep V Cats. Wins on Wednesday and Friday and a higher overall average speed gave Miccosukee the title.

The drama among the smaller boats overshadowed the race's overall winner -- Superboat Vee Unlimited-class Panasonic/Seminole Hard Rock Casino.

The 44-footer with twin 1,075-horsepower engines driven by Mike Seebold of Marco Island and throttled by Fountain Powerboats president David Knight of Washington, N.C., swept all three races in its four-boat class to repeat as world champion. Panasonic also won the Top Gun trophy for fastest in the 42-boat fleet, averaging 99.22 mph for the series.

''I wanted to come down here and establish Fountain Powerboats vee bottoms as the fastest boats in the world, and the way to make a statement is to win all races very handily and always in control, and that's what I think we did,'' Knight said.

The only way to really tell how good the OL Super Vee is, is for it to run against the much better prepared Fountains and Skater's in SBI/APBA. Hopefully someone will bring a OL to the SBI/APBA fleet of Super Vee's

Ahhh ... did you really just say the boats in SBI are better prepared then the boats racing in OSS ... or OPA? Thats kinda a slam dont ya thing? Specially since some of the boats racing in SBI have ran OPA and OSS ... and visa versa ...

RG, I think it's just a matter of some folks rooting for their team..

OPA, SBI, OSS, ABPA....mine is better than yours... From an outsider looking in I think it's really damaging to the sport as a whole and makes them even more disbanded....

Ohh yeah, last I checked... when an APBA boat went to race in UIM it got hammered..

Not too bad but I guess it wasn't enough again.. ;) Don't remember which boat it was since it was a while ago, maybe Alcone, but they were getting hammered in all the turns because the UIM boats had 2 speed transmissions and the APBA boat was rigged more for top speed. :(

Don't misunderstand though, my only point is that the word "World" connotate an international or "world" title, not a national.. :drink: I know, it's splitting hairs, it's like the world series of baseball.. :D

Re: Has Outterlimits ever won a world title???

RGIII, I believe that the OL Super Vee in OSS is a much better prepared team and boat than all the others. The Muscle Fountain is old and the Muscle Team while I love 'em are really there to party have fun and race. They were flying back and forth from Destin to Key West every evening to go party...so they had to be tired on race day...I'd think. The Badboy boat is serious fast but keeps breaking every race. So yes I believe that the 2 Skaters and the factory Fountains in SBI/APBA are better prepared seriosu teams and I believe that the OL OSS Super Vee should race with those teams. I'm not slamming anyone just speaking my mind.
