I have been to Chris shop, Sean Stinson was working out of there from time to time, rigging some of Chris's cats. Chris is a great guy and been in boats forever. He was surposed to be in on the Chief Power Boat deal, but something must have happened.

Re: Tell Me What Original Hull This Is
That has to be a Cary copy or? Even the dash matches Hotrodders Cary 50. His takes $400 to run from Muskegon to Holland and back if you're not pushing it. It has 4 454's with TRS's. I thought all of the molds were in Florida.

Not real sure, but I believe it's called Merrill Marine owned by Chris Merrill located in Granger, Indiana which is right on the border of Michigan about 5 miles east or so of South Bend, IN. I believe it was years ago that Chris bought one or two of the Cary molds. The shop number is 574-272-9716.

Re: Tell Me What Original Hull This Is
That sure looks like my Cary, but the diamensions are differant. 53' long 14' wide, maybe they changed it and must have really lightened it cause mine is 32000 plus, and 50'x15'.
Its an awsome thing that anyone would put 4 gas engines in any boat now-a-days, as Ratickel said it is really bad on fuel milage. But what the heck, ya can't take it with ya. |

I see an edit coming soon :evilb: There is no edit. Unless I or Steve delete's the thread. From my information Boatme was being rather polite. He is entitled to his comments as are yours, especially since he was involved from the get go. To much smoke and mirrors from certain parties. I would let it die at this point. Thank You. Jeff |
Re: Tell Me What Original Hull This Is
I was thinking the 53 was a Scarab Meteor splash but don't know the hull dimensions well enough to make the call.
There was also a Maltese Magnum 53" in the early 80s, could be that. I was told once what the cat molds were splashed from, chriscats or excalibers, I forget which, I just remember they aren't Shadows |
Re: Tell Me What Original Hull This Is
Scarab Meteor was alot narrower.
