who rebuilds crash boxes?
 
i just found a pair of plug in crash boxes but one has a broken gear. are parts still aval from merc or daytona? i located a pair of these same crash boxes in the drive line style, can i remove the tail sock from the plug in to convert the drive line to a plug in? are the internals and gears interchangable between the 2? thx, rm

What is a crashbox?

its a transmission..........it will not shift when the motor is running. You have to turn the motor off and shift and start the motor in gear, ect.

what is a crash box
its a direct drive/gear to gear transmissions with no clutches to slip or burn up, no pump or parasitic hp loss either, they are as bullet proof as it gets
