Another Accident, with death...
 

2am saturday night a guy from warrensburg had a boating accident ( no cigarette boats :rolleyes: ). His ski tower hit a tall dock and it collapsed on him. Then the boat swerved into land 12feet over a retaining wall. :eek: :( :(

Johnny, Did he die ?? They were saying critical yesterday. I was up and out on my deck that night. We heard the firehouse siren and wondered what was happening. Didnt see a big commotion or here anything out on the water. The accident happened no more than 1500 feet north of my house !!

ya he did, the news just wont say it :rolleyes: :( I went and saw it with my boat the next morning no pics were allowed.

Where are you getting that he died? All the news (radio-papers) including the Albany paper are saying he's is the hospital in Albany.

I spoke today with an extremely close friend of mine who is high ranking member of the Bolton Fire Department of which I am a past member. He drove the ambulance and said that the kid did die. Also, lots of beer bottles etc floating in the water and on the shore.

All of the public information I have seen has not confirmed the death though.

Hit a diving board that stuck out from the dock IOW, he was almost driving on the shore. IIRC, that board and the dock it was on are not very far out into the water.

I went to the site yesterday. The diving board stuck out no more than 4 feet from the waters edge at about a height of 4-5 feet above the water line. I have no idea what this guy was doing so close to shore. If he didnt hit the board he was in line to hit some underwater rocks and then shore within 500'. There was no place for him to go, he had to have been totally confused as to his whereabouts on the lake. He left Bolton's public docks which are about 1000' to the north and headed due south instead of heading out into the main part of the lake. He was running parrallel to shore about 3 feet off the shore line.

the kid went to warrensburg highscool, i used to play against him in football and baseball, he was an pretty good kid, he must have been drinking because he wasnt stupid enough to be where he was and think it was alright, its really too bad

Ski boat in close sounds like someone may have been showing off or possibly doing a dock start .. We used to do this before they made them illegal .. Tragic non the less :(

Regretably Ill admit to skiing at 2 or 3 am, in my birthday suit.. There was a full moon out that night if I remember correctly (do not try this at home).. :D :drink:
