Riva....a Enfield-Shead. Nice.

A Riva's boat raced only one time in offshore I think.
In the London-Montecarlo in 1972.
The Rivas was'nt a hull right for race.

I didn't think it was a Riva, but was pretty confident you guys would know what is exactly was.

1972 Yellowdrama Ken Cassir. Former Sopwith's Miss Enfield

1970-71 Miss Enfield - Don Shead design- Enfield Marine 33' of Tommy Sopwith. It was a scorbutic boat but very fast. In 1970 Sopwith threatened Balestrieri's Black Tornado, gave sign of more speed of the italian's Cary 32'. From this design Shead extracted the next and beautiful Miss Enfield II-Unowot-Uno Embassy-Uno Mint... 38'

The first shot here is of the driver being thrown out - sadly he died. The two remaining crew were on the floor of the cockpit as it raced up the beach at Cowes. Amazingly no one on shore was killed. The two crew were OK.

The above shots were from the '76 race. Here is a shot of the hull some time later, running twin diesels. It was a very successful hull in this configuration.
