Exclamation Need help finding Parts for 2001 575 Weiand SuperCharger

I have a 2002 42 Tiger and went in for my winter wake up service and my tech called me and said he noticed that the SC belt was fraied... He pulled the belt off and noticed that the SC had a slite bind... He called and told me that it shoud be rebuilt... He then called Mercury and they reccomended that we send it to "The Blower Shop" in Ca.

I had the Tech remove the unit and fedex it to TBS... I also call the TBS directly spoke to a guy named Eric and he said that if the gears are not too damaged he can repair them... He also said that the he will do a free evaluation and call me w/his findings... My problem is that Weiand was boughtout by Holly and there are not any replacement parts available... So I may be forced to buy a new SC... But it does not make sence to just buy 1... May need to buy 2... Seems a bit foolish when the parts are prob less than a grand...

Any thoughts !!!

Geronimo,
The Blower Shop did a nice job on my Merc/Weiand 256. They can and will repair it better than new with double row bearings and their better gears.
They are doing all the warranty, and most of the out of warranty repairs on B&M and Weiand (both Holley companies now) superchargers.
The only problem you'll have is the downtime. I took them 6 weeks to do mine in the winter. In peak season????
You can buy the "automotive" version from any Holley dealer for a lot less than the Merc/Weiand version. The only difference is the street version has keyed input shaft, where the Merc has a splined shaft. Of course you can put your snout on the street version. I recently priced one for a friend in your situation, and it was $2250 for the "satin" version and $2350 for polished. Go satin if you want to paint it Merc HP blue.
These prices were for the complete kit including intake manifold, gaskets, belt and fasteners. I'm sure you can buy one without all these "accessories" for less.
Plan C is the Blower Shop billet 250 blower. It is sweet, but expensive.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
Regards,
Steve

Geronimo,

Steve is right that the Holley 256 blower is basically the same as the merc 575 blower. The only difference is the case and end plates are not hard anodized and on the merc blower, one of the carb adapter bolt holes is moved out about .100". So you can try to slot your adapter to fit, or have a machine shop put a thread insert in the right location. The only problem is you will still have a blower with single row bearings both front and rear. You will have to use your snout as it was a custom size for the merc package.

Your other option is we make a merc replacement blower. We modify our 250 blower to fit the merc manifold. This gives you our polished billet blower with the double row bearings and heat treated shafts and gears. We do use your snout assembly but we strip the paint and anodize off the outside and have it polished to match the blower. Our part number is #2095 which retails for 3441.17. It is a little more expensive then the Weiand blower, but a lot cheaper then the $7000.00 merc price.

Hopefully we will be able to repair your supercharger if the rotors are not damaged. With yours being a 2002 boat you will probably have the "old style blower" with an oil bath both front and rear. These rotors and gears are no longer available. If it is the new style, then we should be able to get new rotors from Holley. The problem is that the new rotors are not interchangeably with the old style blowers. We are running around 2-3 weeks on repairs right now, but we will do our best to get you back on the water as soon as possible.
