Re: OPA Point Pleasant Race Info. Wanted
Phil
I think viewing from the land is best. The Coast Guard, Marine Police and all the Patrol boats keep boats too far away to make it enjoyable. I've watched the race (for over 30 years) from airplanes, boats and the beach, and the least amount of aggravation is from the beach. If you do decide to view by boat, the North end of the course is usually were the spectator boats are anchored. The race starts at noon. If there are too many boats, there will be two races, one at noon the second probably at 1:30 or 2pm. Hope this helps! |

For the most current info, join the mailing list at www.oparacing.com. Tons of info will be sent out next week.
Couple things. We won't be able to run out the inlet as the CG won't be closing the Inlet on a Sunday. Depending upon boat count and weather, we will probably try to run all the boats at one time. If it's calm and we have 40 boats, we'll look at two races. |
