Horba Contender

Worth saving?? And at what cost.
I saw it yesterday, and it looks as pics show.
Not really any stress cracks, mostly paint.
Could use a full re-rig, and make over.
Any thoughts and ideas?
Breakdown of funds to do it?

Sean, you'd know as good as anyone what it would take to clean that biotch up.
Figuring its solid...
1. basic glass and repaint to original
2. pull and have JC go thru motors
3. pull drives for rebuild... gimbals too.
4. re rig and re wire
5. new 3 man bolster
6. possibly new gauges/shifters and rest o the dash.
7. get rid of that sun shade.

Re: Horba Contender

i'd say it all depends on who built the hull...and how much it could be had for.

for instance...3700 for a stripped 20 Cig is way too much. :)

btw, i'm in a training class today...not at my desk :)

and then you have personal preference... :)

see, signatures are not for me...but they may be for you...it depends on your personal preference and how much you like the boat( refer to my 20 cig as an example...i didnt even try to haggle the price because i HAD to have that boat.)

in my opinion, 13k is steep for that boat considering its age and what it's going to take to get it running.

i dont know the boat personally, but have heard it was pretty good back in the day...

Re: Horba Contender

Sean, i doubt it even runs. 5000-6000 would be right for it.
Not sure i love that popped deck, but those scoops make up for it, plus the history.

$25000 for this boat FINISHED would be ok.
But $40 is way too much... there is pelnty out there for that kind of cash.

The real problem is that 25000 can become 40000 too quickly.
