Anyone use Jet Dock?
I am moving to a new house and permits for a boatlift are a nightmare. I always see the Jet Dock display at the boatshow and they seem cool. I like the fact you can keep the boat out of the water and walk around it. Anyone use one? Are they worth the $$?

Re: Anyone use Jet Dock?
I was looking at them. I think I may go with a regular lift. They are HUGE money but from what I have heard they work very well.

Re: Anyone use Jet Dock?
Also check out www.jetfloat.com They make a very similiar product but it comes in a light color. I think it is a little less money also. From what I hear that black can burn your feet. I imagine down in FLA it would be a real killer.

I have had one for years, (6 or 7) They work great but they can scratch your boat if dirty. I like the fact that they can be re configured as much as you like and you never loose your investment. I have been buying "jetfloat" from canada. less money but less options. I mixed mine with my black "jet dock".

So the Jet Float and jet dock boxes are interchangable? How hard is it to get the boat off the thing? Jon |
Re: Anyone use Jet Dock?
are you thinking of the jetdock float lift? I dotn think the jetfloat raises and lowers.
also check out http://www.boatfloatllc.com/ no a full walkaroudn but decent size platoforms on the side or full walkaround http://www.noprofileboatlifts.com/ but a lift and will need permits. |

Yes jet doc and jet float go together. The boat is a 13' whaler not real heavy my two girls (15 and 13) have no problem launching it. They just lift up and give it a shove. They hold on to a line the pull it back to the side of the dock. For bigger boats jet dock rigs up a winch that pulls back on the boat eye and for very large boats (performance) they use a air chamber under them to lower them in the water then you use your out drive.
I just took these shots this weekend, good timing. I may be upping to a 16' whaler too. I also want to try my eliminator on it. I think i will need 2 more rows of cubes though. |
Re: Anyone use Jet Dock?
There is a big outer limits on one here.....I talked to the guy alot and he says it is great..I checked it out...it is a very good idea and his boat goes easy and yes it is right there for you to work on...all the way around....he says when boat wakes come....nothing gets wrecked out and the thing hardly moves..they have not done any for big cats as of last year

Re: Anyone use Jet Dock?
can jetdock or jetfloat or any of the others attach onto pilings or just those PVC ones inthe photos? how are they in a fast current?

Re: Anyone use Jet Dock?
My bro in law is the distributor for jet dock up here. We have em at the cottage. They come in black or light tan colours. The bigger set ups are submergible and use a compressor and air chambers to raise and lower. Pretty slick stuff. Indestructible and very versatile.

Re: Anyone use Jet Dock?
Has anyone done a price quality comparison? Do they all seem to be the same? I know that they all have some slightly different options like the winch posts and what not.
For my 18 Donzi I was at like 7500 for the Jet Dock and about 5 grand for the Jet Float   My problem is that on the side of the dock that I keep the Donzi on I have very little water. |

Re: Anyone use Jet Dock?
For pilings I just wrapped a chain around the pile with a couple of snap hooks hooking to the ears of the cube. The dock does not need to be "firmly" attached to the pilings. It is better to "push" against something firm when docking rather than sideways. For the most part they are tied off with rope.

I have one for a 13' PWC. I may sell it if anyone is interested.
|
I purchased two of the solid one piece design for my PWCs and in salt water with both skis on them (they bolt together) they sit low in the back, not so low as to have any of the ski in the water but the return slot "v" in the front that guides you into the center of the platform will build up barnacles and it scratches the shrt out of the front of the ski if you don't scrape it clean after you get the ski out of it. You can sometimes get the ski off without it scrapping too bad but the first time you try to drive up on the thing with the barnacles in the "v" it scratched the crap out of the hull. Sold one to a guy to use as a maintenance platform to stand on while working on his boat while it is in the hoist and that is what I use the other one for.
Now I have a couple of piling mounted vertical lifts for the skis as I should have purchased first. $1800 wasted. And that was 4 years ago and it was a very specific brand, not jet dock but a one piece knock off. It is almost identical to the CarolinaFloats product but that is not the company. The company I purchased from is no longer in business. I would wait for the permits for the lifts if I were you. |
