Manufactures. Cup Offshore Challenge

THE CATALINA RACE is considering adding a Manufactures V - bottom Cup Challenge to this Legendary Race. Each Manufacturer could enter two boats RACE or pleasure. They would have there own start. Each year the newly designed Trophy would be handed down to the new winner. (VERY COOL DESIGN)

SKIP, REGGIE, MIKE This is not a challenge. Just a great way to showcase your Rigs , Have some fun and settle some of the nonsense. WE have some very high profile media that is interested in covering this part of the run.

i would of figured with the recent "cat killing" episode, that other vee's would be no match for the emperor of powerboating.... but with one vote so far out of 17 it looks like the people can see the emperor's clothes... :drink:

LAVEYCRAFT hands down! Your poll is missing the obvious choice. LOOK at what a LAVEY did to the BIG Puerto water, we crushed it!! 3:29 ahead of 2nd place, we love BIG offshore water.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming responses and positive feedback we are receiving on the Catalina Rum Run race.
As the President of POPRA, one of my dreams was to bring back the passion and excitement of true offshore racing. I would like to see offshore racing return to its roots when “offshore racing” actually meant “offshore”. I had to become the President of a racing organization to get my dream off the ground and here we go. We have a five-year plus plan with the City of Long Beach for this “real offshore” race.
I am also working with Powerboat Magazine to have a Manufacturer’s Cup presented at the Powerboat Awards ceremony along with a full-page story “bragging rights” in the magazine. So call your manufacturer and tell them to bring their baddest race boat to claim the title. If the manufacturers accept this challenge, POPRA will set-up their own start for the manufacturer’s class.
There is another Trophy up for grabs. It’s the Bob Nordskog Trophy for the fastest overall time. Every year this progressive Trophy would be handed down to the new winner.
