Has anyone ever used "Sea Foam"?

Has anyone ever used "Sea Foam"? I have an older Mustang that is a little tired. I was thinking of adding some upper cylinder lubricant (like Lucas), but a friend of mine says this "Sea Foam" stuff is great for any engine! I saw it on the shelf at the auto parts store, but I am reluctant to try it. I have used the Lucas stuff in another application and it worked wonders. I was even thinking of adding it to my '97 Powerstroke!

I've used the Sea Foam the last 3 years when winterizing my boat. I've never noticed an detereiration in the gas.

Use it every year winterizing the sleds, over 5 years without ANY problems. Good Stuff.

I've used it on just about all most toys at one point or another.....the stuff does work......smokes allot but it works. Follow the directions on it and don't add it too fast or you could hydro lock you engine......just fast enough to keep the engine running but about to stall out :) Vacuum hose from the brake booster is a good point of entry...

I use it in the boat, jet-skis and mower.
I haven't tried it in the truck yet. But I hear it works well.

I was also told to run it thru the boat engines once a year to keep everything clean and like new, since we don't have to winterize the boat anymore! :p  :drink: :D

Sea Foam Works Great But The Key Is To Make Sure The Motor Is Good And Hot So It Will Get Rid Of All The Carbon Build Up

I have an old Honda 900 that was all gummed up and not even running. I drained the carbs and poured them full of Sea-Foam. I let them sit for 4 to 5 hours, drained them, filled up with fresh fuel, and the thing ran better than it ever had before. I'm a believer! Now it's in every small engine I own, from the John Deere tractor to the Husky chainsaw.

Good stuff...
On my work car I have run 27.4 MPG consitently since spring. Added a can of Sea Foam to the tank and driving the same, doing the same routine my MPG went to 28.8.. Really seems to run smoother as well now. This next tank I never added any so we'll see if MPG drops back down again..

I never heard of Sea Foam. It sounds like a great product. Where do you get it at? What is it mainly used for?--sounds like it has alot of uses.

I don't think Sea Foam is legal for sale in Kalifornia, seem to remember reading that somewhere. Has something to do with our Draconian smog laws. If I am wrong, please inform me of a reliable source, thanks.

Re: Has anyone ever used "Sea Foam"?

I've used Sea Foam for about a year. Used in the boat, car, truck and lawn equiptment as a gas supplement. Used it in my Cummins a couple of times. It's my understanding that cleans injectors and does a better job with gas powered engines. Now use Stanadyne in the Cummins as it contains more lubricant than the other supplements, now that we have to put up with the new diesel fuel. Diesel mileage increased about 1-2 mpg and hopefully the lift pump and injector pump will last longer.

On the fishing forums I'm on most all the 2 stroke outboard guy swear by it. It's works wonders to de-carbon the engine.

I have seen it at Oreilly or Auto Zone. I'm going to have to try the stuff after all the great reviews its getting.

I have used it in several of my fuel injected vehicles with very good results.

Re: Has anyone ever used "Sea Foam"?

I just threw some in my daughters 1996 S10 Blazer that has 133K on it. I poured it down the throttle body. Made it *SMOKE* for about a minute. I also put some in the gas tank. We'll see if it makes a difference.

Got it at Advance Auto for about $5.50

Land Rover owners are nuts about Sea Foam.

If you search that term in the Discovery Technical discussions you'll find information and opinions.
