All Fired Up
I am so excited and proud of Mr P, as a lot of you know over the winter he took the engines and drives out and made lots of changes (different drive set up, new props, hopefuly more speed) We had parts strewn everywhere, a few weeks ago he put the engines back in, something he has never done. Well tonight we had a date with the hose and both engines fired up the first time and sounded better than ever :D Tomorrow we are heading to Lake St Clair to get her wet, keep your fingers crossed it runs as well as it did in the driveway. I must say I was little bit nervous, but even though he is not a mechanic by trade it looks like he did a great job and saved us a lot of money :D Thanks honey, glad I am you first mate :drink:

OK back to the grill, we are cooking gourmet tonight and the red wine is breathing :drink: it is a beautiful night but Ian is to tired to crank the ski boat hoist up and down, so will observe the lake from the deck, ahhhhhh life is good |

congrats the first time is always the best !!!!!!
let us know how she runs!!!!! :drink: |
Re: All Fired Up
I tell you, for not being a mechanic by trade, he seems to be quite knowledgable. I get the feeling he really enjoys working on the engines as much as he does running the boat. :)
Good luck on the maiden voyage with the new power. |
Re: All Fired Up

Re: All Fired Up
Thanks for all the good wishes. We are back, and it was PERFECT :evilb: Took us forever to get going so we did not hit the water until 3. Everything ran great, boat is a bit louder, but Mr Gadgets said to expect that until the new shorties are broke in. We did not want to run hard, top speed for the day was around 60, Ian thinks with a little tweaking we might get close to 80. We went out by Harsens Island, then the Basset Channel, then to Jack's for dinner. Our luck held, just as we started to look for a spot, a Black Thunder pulled out, so we slid into their space. We saw a really Hot Pantera rigged for racing. We made friends with the couple sitting next to us, they were from CA, here for a seminar. They were real nice, since it was still beautiful out, and we were in a good mood, we took them for a short sightseeing cruise along the Grosse Point Shoreline. We saw a huge freighter so we circled it, that was something they had never seen. I think the boat ride made their weekend, our's too :D
Don't ask about pictures, I screwed up and had the camera on the wrong setting :( Ian just went to bed, he's happily exhausted  |

No Chicago for us this year, money is tight. So you guys will have to head this direction. You know we are still waiting to show you around Put In Bay :drink: |

Donna, Glad to hear that all went well for Ian and the completion of the motor/outdrive project. I am still working on getting the motors together. I did hook up with Jim. He should have my first motor next for the dyno.
Susan loves to cruise around Harsens Island too. Hope to see you out there on the water soon. |

Re: All Fired Up
Donna, Ian
Glad to hear you got the boat back together. It is a real sense of accomplishment when you do things yourself. Donna your support to Ian means allot to him I'm sure. Patti always gives me that support also. Along with a long list of Friends. Sorry you won't make the Chicago Run. Take care and have fun. Mark :drink: |
Re: All Fired Up
Sprague, we would like to run over with you very much. Looks like about 1:00 for us. The light is fine. Our passengers are looking forward to seeing an official APBA record holder in action.

Re: All Fired Up
