I owned both. They both have advantages. I personally like the Motion better. If you have specific questions I will be happy to anser them.

The SPECTRE has tons more creature comforts and I would think has a higher resale.

Everyone says the same thing about Skater vs. Spectre. The only creature comforts I see in a 30 Spectre is the cooler behind the back seat. I agree the 36 Spectre would have a higher resale value. Buying both used at a good price, I dont know how much higher the value would be though. I bet they handle almost exactly the same also. Drive them both and make your decision, that would be the only way to go.

I have an '05 35 Motion in-stock w/ a nicely-finished cabin forward, although you still need to enter from a flush deck hatch.

I went thorugh the same search like you a few years ago. I tested a 35 Motion and a 36 Spectre. Both had big power and Sixes. For some reason the Spectre had a much harsher ride in rough water. I bought the Motion. As for creature comforts, they are both custom boats. I see no advantage in either boat in that department. Only who had it built with what options. I do not see any difference in resale value.

I also think the Motion has a nicer ride. The Spectre was a much harder ride in bumpy water. The Spectre also sounds much louder when it hits. The echo inside the hull is very loud. It sounds like your hitting concrete when you re-enter the water. The Spectre also Porpoise's between 70 and 85. Most Spectres need a tunnel tab. The Motion NEVER porpoises and I think it's a much smoother ride. Like I said, i owned both.

looking for either boat used for fun and some poker runs--something in the 120mph+ range and under 200k

I have always been very impressed with the clean lines of the Motion. One thing I have noticed is they do not stay on the market long. I would say resale is strong on them.

Have spoken to some guys that have raced them and they told me they are tough and hard core. I guess that means they are very well built.

Here are a few pictures of the Motion's on a Poker Run we did.

I also perfer the extra seating in the Spectre...4 in the rear works better than 3......
