Watch out for the ferry wakes.............Ocean Bay Park has a marina Flynns. On the east side you can I think tie to his dock and anchor the other end out. Med style I have heard it called..........Mark...... Kismet Inn had a deal where you get the slip money back as a credit at the Inn....m.m. Week days are alot easier........

Davis Park is also really nice and has more, like a resturant. You will not find that at Watch Hill.
BTW, do not feed the deer, if you get caught you will get fined. The best slips at Watch Hill are on the east side of the marina.

Yes, you can sleep at anchor at Sailors Haven. We have done that several times as it is extremely difficult to get slips there. BUT, if the wind picks up from from west or north (usually does not) it can get bumpy as it is so shallow. This does not bother us, but some wives may be a bit unhappy. Since you have a fleet of six boats it should be no problem to have rotating anchor watch to ensure nobody drags anchor. Or, just do like I do and set depth and GPS alarms to wake you if the boat drifts. Your cost for the entire fleet to anchor and visit Sailor's haven/Fire Island would be zero.
The Sunken Forest at Sailor's Haven is one of the treats of the entire east coast in my opinion. It is rumored Rockefeller had Robert Moses fired (builder of freeways around NYC) because Moses was going to put a road through the Sunken Forest, and Rockefeller was outraged.
You could also take water taxis or one or two boats to visit Ocean Beach (Tequila Jacks is best to dock and drink at, then walk over to Ocean Beach), leave the rest of the fleet anchored at Sailor's Haven. That is what I would do, one person could watch the fleet at anchor to quard against anchor pull outs.
