Historic 4th of July
3 Attachment(s)
We went out in the Nordic to watch the Space Shuttle launch, man it was beautiful launch and day! NASA has never launched a shuttle on our nation's birthday, so that was the historic part...
Here are some shots! Hope everyone had great 4th, Dean |

Watcning the Shuttle always makes me proud t be an American. Seeing it go up on the 4th of July just makes it that much more special. I hope they have a safe flight and a safe return.

Good to see Discovery back in flight! Wasn't in FL but watched it on TV. More pics and video feeds from floridatoday.com & nasa.gov complete coverage.

Hey Dean, How far back from the shore was the perimeter? And how did the rockets sound? Anything like your buddy Callans boat :evilb: :evilb: :evilb:

Ken, We were ~8 miles from the 39A launch pad, and the sound is nothing like those Callan turbines! It's like a very long clap of thunder, like when it just rumbles for a minute or so! Dean |

Dean,
I wish that I had known that you were going to be out. I was looking for any reason to take the boat up north, but the wife backed out on me. Tom |
