TRS drives

Hello,

I need your advice. I would like to buy a 34' boat with TRS drives.

I have heard they are out of production for quite a while. Are there still spare parts available, and are these drives good?

I just wonder while Konrad offers a replacement kit...

Thanks

heiko

Re: TRS drives

Spare parts are available & they are great drives.
To much hp will hurt them..... Konrad makes a great replacement drive if you have heavy engines.

You will be fine. I think TRS are good up to around 600hp. I've had TRS for 3 years and so far no problems,I keep the oil changed and easy on the sticks when taking off with 475 -500 hp.

Mel Riggs has a huge supply of factory TRS parts as well as a highly competent staff in his rebuild shop.

You should be able to run with very little problem if you take it easy; TRS should be ok with 550-600hp; most parts are still available with a bit of searching or from riggs. Good luck -Jeff

Re: TRS drives

I have 800 hp in front of TRS drives and trans done by Speedmasters.

Only problem I have had was I hit something in FL once and hit something
in Jersey once. ......I dont beat the boat up.

So far been about 6 yrs and no other issues........dont want a bravo boat
but if I sell this one I might have little other choice.

I'm sure those Konrads are good.......but I dont want to put any more
money into this boat and dont really have any problems withTRS.

I'm now over the 250 hr mark with my Konrads. Zero failures = cheap boating. :D
