Don't Irk the Terrorists

SEN. EDWARD KENNEDY (desperately dialing the United Nations on his cell phone, trying to get authorization before acting): "Ah, violence may not be the best course of action we should take. We don’t want to anger them, because it will incite more violence.”

VICE PRESIDENT, AL GORE (speaking slowly and methodically): "If we assert the right to defend ourselves then others who are also threatened would feel justified in starting a war.”

SEN. TOM DASCHLE: "Look, although they have murdered two passengers, they as yet haven’t attacked us personally. It would be wrong of us to act in a pre-emptive manner, particularly against an ethic minority. Besides, we are all Americans, plus we outnumber them. We can’t act unilaterally, especially when they are a smaller group. (His voice goes down to a whisper.) That would be wrong!”

SEN. DIANNE FEINSTEIN: "I think we are better served right now by some patience and to see if the U.N. can in fact help us.”

SEN. ROBERT BYRD (the baron of pork nervously paces back and forth, his voice trembles, his face as white as a sheet): "How much is this going to cost?”

YOUNG CONGRESSIONAL AIDE: "Maybe if I can reach the people who conduct our focus groups they might have some stats or information regarding an approach or strategy that the American people might favor in a situation like this?” (The aide gets a big thumbs-up from every senator, then franticly dials his PR people.)

DASCHLE: "We need to consider all options. We need to open a dialogue with the terrorist. If given a chance we might be able to persuade them with words to put down their box cutters and relinquish control of the plane. We must be sensitive to the reasons why they hate us so much and what can we do, as Americans, to change the things about us that they don’t like. Again, we need to be sensitive to ...”

From the back of the plane a voice is heard saying: "Are you guys ready? Let’s roll.” Charging down the isle, full throttle, is President, Bush, catapulting a stainless-steel beverage cart into a high-speed battering ram. He is followed closely by Todd Beamer, who is followed by several other businessmen, followed by a flight attendant who was a former police officer, followed by a petite attendant carrying a coffee pot filled with boiling water, followed by a rugby player, who is followed by more civilian patriots.

One by one, single file, they storm down the aisle intent on saving themselves and other innocent Americans. They are not afflicted with moral confusion like our Democratic politicians. These Americans are not content to wring their hands and makes excuses for inaction while thousands of Americans die horrible deaths. They did what had to be done and saved hundreds of American lives. Just as President Bush is working to save American lives, fighting terrorists and Democratic partisans.

Political debate is essential in a representative republic and thoughtful people will always be reluctant to go into a war; however, since Sept. 11th, what is there to debate? We have been attacked.

It was our country's inaction during the Clinton-Gore administration that emboldened our enemies to attack us on Sept. 11. Clinton-Gore ignored the first WTC bombing in 1993, the attack on the USS Cole. They ignored information that linked terrorists to the Oklahoma bombing and TWA Flight 800.

Clinton-Gore fought like a girl in Somalia, ordering our troops to withdrawal before the fight was won, refusing requests for tanks to assure victory and allowing our dead soldiers to be dragged around the streets like an animal’s carcass.

And now, the media expect us to give serious consideration to Clinton's and Gore’s political musings. Why? They have proven themselves to be weak and ineffective Jimmy Carter-style leaders. They should be ashamed to even show their faces.

Democratic politicians are turning this once strong and proud American party into a party of Neville Chamberlains. They are sounding more like weak-minded Europeans who couldn’t see or stop the evil of Hitler, Stalin or Mussolini. The comeuppance of this type of blind stupidity is death.

Three thousand Americans are dead. Why do we have to wait until 3 million Americans die before Democrats understand the peril we face?

The ordinary American patriots on Fight 93 understood it. They understood it in a New York minute.

This must be a surreal experience for Saddam Hussein – listening to people defend his defiance, the very same people he intends to kill as soon as he acquires the capabilities.

Wake-up Call for Voters

This political debate is a wake-up call for American voters. It's a rare occurrence to see your future so clearly encapsulated in political debate: Turn right and live; turn left and die.

Americans need to take the mental picture of this horror story into the voting booth and make a solemn vow to purge our U.S. Senate and House of Representatives of all Democratic politicians and any weak chicken-livered Republicans politicians, too. The only thing that will save Americans is voting into office politicians who do not fear or see evil in a strong, safe America.

Somehow I don't think Bush would have been the guy pushing the beverage cart.... He would have been there but he would have made the other people to do it...

Yal, right, Gore, the guy who could not carry his own state and promoted $7/gal gasoline.... what a bad joke....

"Shoot a GI in the back while making up war stories to get purple hearts" Hanoi Kerry ... another bad joke

"An Inconvient Truth" should have been called "Another fking liberal lie from a Kook who wanted to be president".... this is not even good enought to be a bad joke...

Give us a break, the high oil prices are being promoted by the left as a way to discredit Bush and empower our enmies cause they think it will help them get elected, I only wish he were able to control oil prices like the loney left thinks he can, if he could the stuff would be free......

Maybe if the left would actually get behind our efforts to win the war on terror instead of empowering every tryant despot on the face of the earth with an oil well and a suicide bomber at their side we might actually win this war and end the high gas prices....

Dean,

That is one of the most concise and easily understandable editorials I have ever read. Very insightful.

Thanks "dean51267"
It sometimes seems that people are more concerned with the "high cost of gas" rather than the "high cost of capitulation".
