Default Probably looking for the brakes

Yet insurance companies will write policies for these things no problem and yet we have all the issues??? Last time I checked, most of us that buy Offshore or go-fasts tend to have a background in boating. I'm all for licensing for both boats and PWC's operators. Just show some basic skills. Too many dipwads out there and now one less. If you want to be with or in the water, that's fine, your heart's in the right place. But let's keep our heads there too.

Where does one check that?
Because I would have guessed that most people who buy trawlers have a background in boating, and most people who buy go-fasts just saw a miami vice movie or won the lotto and they stopped at the boat store after they went and bought gold chains.

I bought my first "fast" boat 20 years ago this summer and I still don't own a gold chain. Am I missing out on some of the excitement performance boating has to offer?

I have to agree with that one. I hate to say it but the biggest knuckleheads I have seen on the water were in brand new offshore/go-fast boats and they didn't have a clue as to what they were doing.

Also, the story isn't very detailed. It sounds to me like he was in a no-wake zone and a wave pushed him into a dock and he smacked his head on a dock. It's not like he was one of those guys/girls out there running WFO and not paying attention to their surroundings. Accidents happen and a lot of people lost a friend, brother, son etc in an accident!
