several regualars at the LEOPA poker run said they are not going and others have mentioned it as well. Of course the majority of the OPA and OSS guys will be in Destin. There is no question as more race teams pull out, attendence will be lower

Next week we have an opportunity to be at St Clair, that race will most likely have more boats than this years Key West race :D

Will any other race organizations be there??OSS or AMF or OPA if not keep dates seperate or try to unite real hard

they will be at their worlds (together) which is the same time in Destin. Those organizations are willing to combine, but apparantly APBA rules make it to expensive for most teams. OPA has found a way to race without breaking the bank, and it seems to be catching on. There membership has gone through the roof and other groups like the Bluewater Racing Association (great lakes) are jumping on board.

Sharkey, when you run a post office, anything is considered relaxing outside the office :D Christ when I'm out on the Coast Guard boat during a storm I find that more relaxing then being at the Post Office. :D :drink:

If the boat count keeps going lower and lower like it has been it looks like few boats will make it to Key West. Or maybe some boats are running just the required few races and holding off till Key West. It's really really sad to see what it was in 1998-2003 to what it is now....very sad. :mad:

I have heard of even more people going this year than the past five years - especially from Ohio - Pretty big group coming. I'm already booked and the rooms are already slim.

I'd love to see al the boats together, but it ain't happenin' so......

The best parties, hottest girls and most fun comes from OSO members. The FPC Poker Run has got plenty of hardware and the Conch Republic restaurant seemed to be jumpin all weekend. The city will not miss the boats that don't show. :mad:

they want rooms filled, and people spending $$$$$$$ :(

Im with you on this one Cash. I couldnt care less if they had races or not. KW is the place to be with the FPC. Our show is much better than any race. I have my reservations made already

Poker run boats are cool, but you really never get a chance to see them run, only admire them at the docks :( Most days we waited for them to come in, and it was just a few at a time, and mostly at idle. by the time you could really see them they were no longer on plane. Now you can't compare that to the excitement and roar of the engines of a race :D

I am sure for those that go, especially if you are on a Poker Run boat it will be a blast :drink: Key West will probably be busy but I still doubt as busy as it was in 04.

Here, here. I'm with you guys. Just because the racing is all screwed up doesn't mean we can't have fun in the poker run and partying in KW. Here we come!!!!!!!!
