You Should Not Take Any Heat For The Sale. The Buyer Got What He Wanted And Is Happy. Ask Your Self Where You Started And What Did You Know About Boats. Like Said Before You Have To Start Some Where.

Maybe I just got some early heat because folks thought that I had scammed him or I was gloating. Neither is the case.

He barely sees the boat and decides he wants it. He is clearly shopping color as the biggest factor. He does not inspect the hull, the transom, or any of the mechanicals. He loves the stereo. I'm sure he'll be happy as hell with his new boat, and you for selling it. I see it as a win win situation. You gotta start somewhere. My first boat was a 23 John Allmand with a froze up 155 OMC. I knew it was frozen, but I was happy as a pig in sunshine when I got it home. And yes, I did get the engine running, and ran the boat for about a year, before I traded it in on my brand new fishboat, which I still have today. I got more for my starter boat, than I had in it. I can safely say, it's the only boat I actually made money on. No guilt trip needed, I'm sure he's happy.
Btw, I still have that fishboat after 18 years, and if I hadn't had my starter boat to trade for a downpayment, I wouldn't have been able to buy the fishboat. |
