You Should Not Take Any Heat For The Sale. The Buyer Got What He Wanted And Is Happy. Ask Your Self Where You Started And What Did You Know About Boats. Like Said Before You Have To Start Some Where.

Maybe I just got some early heat because folks thought that I had scammed him or I was gloating. Neither is the case.

Don't be so hard on yourself .... At least he knows enough that there are some drives that do and some that don't trim !

He may be better than you think :drink:

Cap should be bilge moderator except during presidential election years.

Then it should be License To Thrill. :D

He is clearly shopping color as the biggest factor.

He does not inspect the hull, the transom, or any of the mechanicals.

He loves the stereo.

As I am in the boat getting ready to fire it up for him. (ran it for 15 seconds each side) he looks at the drives (which are OMCs) with 4 trim rams staring him in the mug and he asks:
"Are those trimmable drives?"

I knew this was my buyer. :D

I ran the drives up and down for him.

Then we hooked the boat to his rig and down the road he went.

Best of luck Mr. Newboater. :D

Gotta LOVE that. Congratulations on the painless sale. Now, what to do with that wad of cash? :drink:

I'm sure he'll be happy as hell with his new boat, and you for selling it. I see it as a win win situation. You gotta start somewhere. My first boat was a 23 John Allmand with a froze up 155 OMC. I knew it was frozen, but I was happy as a pig in sunshine when I got it home. And yes, I did get the engine running, and ran the boat for about a year, before I traded it in on my brand new fishboat, which I still have today. I got more for my starter boat, than I had in it. I can safely say, it's the only boat I actually made money on. No guilt trip needed, I'm sure he's happy.

Btw, I still have that fishboat after 18 years, and if I hadn't had my starter boat to trade for a downpayment, I wouldn't have been able to buy the fishboat.

I don't see a problem......one man's tender is another's yacht. You made full disclosure, sleep well tonight!
