Do you suppose he is new to boating?

So the guy pulls up to my house with a brand new 350 dually and a wad of cash.

He barely sees the boat and decides he wants it.
He is clearly shopping color as the biggest factor.

He does not inspect the hull, the transom, or any of the mechanicals.

He loves the stereo.

As I am in the boat getting ready to fire it up for him. (ran it for 15 seconds each side) he looks at the drives (which are OMCs) with 4 trim rams staring him in the mug and he asks:
"Are those trimmable drives?"

I knew this was my buyer. :D

I ran the drives up and down for him.

Then we hooked the boat to his rig and down the road he went.

Best of luck Mr. Newboater. :D

I am grateful that this guy started where he did. :D

the boat is safe and everything, but it has issues that could have slowed another guy down a bit.

Like the OMCs.

Razor- Don't be proud. This guy will end up in the news when he T-bones a cruiser cause he dropped his beer at 60 mph.

Congrats on the sale.

Not proud. Thankful.

He isn't gonna drop a beer at 60 mph on that boat unless he rides on it on the freeway on the trailer.

The boat I sold is not a "real" go fast.

The boat I sold counts as a starter boat, I was just kind of amazed at the overall lack of knowledge.

He'll learn. It will be ok.

I didn't think that I should refuse selling the boat to a guy that doesn't recognize a trim ram.

Again... the boat is seaworthy and dry.

Should I have?

Don't quite understand this post.

I didn't make any false claims about the boat, not even the speed.
