I would like to let everyone know about a fun run that will be taking place on July 29 out of Withrop Harbor. We plan on running to Racine and then return to Withrop Harbor Yacht club for dinner and a DJ.

This will be an informal event that is intended to be a simple get togther of all performance boaters from the area. You do not have to be a member of the yacht club, Chicago Powerboat club or Northern Ill Offshore club to join in this run. Feel free to join us on Saturday (7/29) for this run.

The cost for this outing is only $15 each to cover the dinner at the yacht club. We would like you to signup for this run by going to the Chicago Poweboat Club WEB site at:

This will be a chance for you to meet others from the area and run with them on Lake Michigan.

Rick, can a person join in the fun the same day? I will probably have my waverunner done by then and be up in that area hopefully testing it out with my wife during the day....maybe after all is said and done we would come by for some fun...Seeing as my Stinger project has no chance of hitting the water anytime soon this year i'm doing what i can to get on the water!

Yes you can. The reason for the signup is so the yacht club knows how much food to get for dinner. You can come just for the dinner and evening activities, just for the boat running or both. What ever you would like to do. For the lunch at Racine everyone is on their own for that . There are four options: bring your own, hot dog stand by boat ramp, resturant on the point (same place we ate for the very first fun run we did a few years back) or the Chancery (1 block walk).

If you don't know about dinner at the yacht club until that day, I am sure there will be some extra food planned for last minute signups at the yacht club. We would just like to have as much notice as possible so enough food is provided.

For those with boats that are down I am sure they can shag a ride from someone.

cool...i'm not all that worried about the food situation...if theres food there then cool....if not then like you said the restaurant has good food as well...hopefully we will be there....or if my wife is working we may jus drive up and hang out with everyone

That was always a run that I wanted to make.

Wally, you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find 787 cores. They are actually rebuilding mine, but it'll be two weeks.

Actually Tim they are all over ebay....but for some big money depending on what parts you need....i just watched a case sell for $180 and the crank go for $210....i think i could part this out and make more money then its worth together!!!

I found out this weekend that they could not get the band they were planning on so a DJ will be there. We will still have plenty of activities and music too!
