Dang thats a real bummer. Don't go to many theaters to see movies but this one was on my list, because of what I had heard about the boating in it. Guess I'll pass now. Thanks for the heads up.

I don't understand why the scenes were cut. What was the reasoning behind it? Should we read the dissapointing articles and not give it a chance? If this movie doesn't hit it, maybe they will blame it on the high performance boat scenes (although minor), they will need an excuse! |

Lubejobs,
I can understand why you are pissed - I'm pissed and all I did was waste my time reading all the magazine articles about how great these boat scenes were going to be! So I can imagine how pissed you are that your boat's not in the movie! I think I would rather spend the movie $$$ on DVD's of the original series. This movie sounds like it will be similar to the series in name only, unfortunately. Shame on Mann bowing to studio pressure. This movie sounds like another "Bad Boys 2" or something... |
Re: Miami Vice Huge Let Down! Read This!
Speaking of which, when is the release date of Season 3 of the original series?

I also was one of the boats in the movie. Yes we were given a token amount of money to go there and use our boats. It cost all the teams WAY MORE than they payed. We did it for the betterment of the sport and thought that if Offshore racing was seen on the big screen that possibly it would help build the fan base again. It was even OK if Typhoon was not even in the picture as long as they got some good exciting Offshore footage for the movie. I feel like sending them a bill for my cracked windshield,Drive rebuilding and my prop that got destroyed. We worked from 4:30 am to 8:30 pm one day in 102 deg heat. And similar hours the next day. My guess is it cost the average boat there an average of $10,000 out of pocket. I'm pissed!!!!!!
While they were filming the racing I was saying to myself: they could make a movie of just boat racing like Days of Thunder. Maybe its just us boat nuts but I would love to see a movie like that. MD |

It may help if you and the others involved sent a letter to the producers... |
