Anyone know what ICBM stands for?

Intercontinental Ballistic Missle.

I was checking my spelling in the dictionary and stumbled across this. This was one of Fountain's models right? I never new what it meant.

Smitty 02-04-2002 05:48 PM

I believe it stands for Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile.

Payton 02-04-2002 06:00 PM

That's what I always thought it was.

ssherman 02-04-2002 06:17 PM

That is correct.

Sydwayz 02-04-2002 06:23 PM

You are correct. I used to work for BMDO; the Ballistic Missle Defense Organization, in the basement of the Pentagon. They are they guys with their fingers hovering over all those little ICBM Launch Red Buttons, literally.

Hot Boat 02-04-2002 06:27 PM

I heard that boat only came in red.... Is that correct????????????

boot 02-04-2002 06:31 PM

NO not just red . I have seen lots of them in white with red and blue stripes .

SpeedDoc 02-04-2002 07:29 PM

Ken is right.....but in my world it stands for;
I Can't Blame Myself.. or
I CAN Be Mislead!!!

ScreaminDemon 02-04-2002 07:31 PM

Kurt :D

Pure Energy 02-04-2002 07:50 PM

catmando

I did not know what it stood for and thought to post it as a bit of trivia. If you knew what it stood for then I guess you are one up on those who don't. If you found it to be trivial, great, next time spare me your sarcasm and move on.

02-04-2002 08:54 PM

ICBM = It Can't Be Mine.

sy goldberg 02-04-2002 09:14 PM

Pure Energy 02-04-2002 09:34 PM

Jayl13 02-05-2002 04:32 PM

It actually stood for Inter COSTAL ballistic Missle

The boat anyway did and only offered in red with camel interior

This was the one boat (33 or 40 ft) that really stuck out in my mind that I wanted so bad
Saw one at RPM in Summers point years ago with a blown upper half of one engine and the owner gave no $hit about for sale for 30 grand on a new myco color matched

Some peoples trash can be other peoples treasure,
THat was one sharp ass ride
That is the one boat that will always be a legend

Jay

Dangerous Dave 02-05-2002 05:09 PM

Screamon Demon is absoulutly correct, InterContinental Boating Machine

Larry D 02-05-2002 08:36 PM

Dave and demon are correct it was intercontinental boating machine and if memory serves me they where all red hulled 12 meters

Jayl13 02-07-2002 08:44 AM

33 ft = 10 meter
40 ft = 12 meter

Both had ICBM packages offered
All red only
Gold stripe with ICBM cut out of the graphic toward the stern
Black plexi windshield OR red color matched fairing
Optional Arch
twin mags was the smallest power you could get

was a nice boat, but other than the colors ect there was not any real difference over the stock lightening (called the 10 meter at the time)

BLOWN 1100 02-07-2002 09:53 PM

The 33 is a 35 with no swim platform.
ICBM stood for Inter Continental Boating Machine and was immediately nicknamed
Inter Coastal Ballistic Missile. They were red with silver or gold stripes outside and camel or light gray interior. Look in this months Hot Boat at the Lotto Shootout and you can see one in original outside appearance, it still has the ICBM on its side

US1 FOUNTAIN I agree with you

Life begins at 100mph

Biggus 02-07-2002 10:00 PM

I really liked mine and I should have kept itI

It was a lot of fun! :D

The sail boat guys hated them things for some reason

Kurt

28Eliminator 02-07-2002 10:16 PM

Those sail boat guy's hate any boat with more than 5 HP. ;)

Jayl13 02-08-2002 11:09 AM

I hate sailboats personally
Always jibing right infront of you and yes you have to give them the right of way blah blah blah
I want to go somewhere I want to go
Not take 7 hrs to sail back and forth tacking back and forth to go 15 miles
Hell I want to be there in 30 seconds with twins screaming and shorelines stop dead in their tracks to listen to the sweet sound of BBChevy's!!!

BD, should have kept it dude -- a legend of a boat
And yes the 33 10 meter is the 35 with no integrated swim platform
33-35 lightening/10 meter/executioner has and always will be one of the most bad ass boats ever created from any manufacturer.
It has its place in the offshore category as a legend.
Now anyone want to trade an ICBM for a 30' baja???????
please?
Jason

seanclong 02-08-2002 11:30 AM

I love sailboats -- particularly when they're in a regatta. They make nice serpentine cones...

Sean :)

BLOWN 1100 02-08-2002 03:43 PM

Gee I thinking of removing ICBM off Old Red
but after seeing all these post I may leave it a few more years. Sale boats suck :D

spitfire1 02-08-2002 06:55 PM

And not only that......but they are always jamming everything up around the bridges.....damn water hazards if you ask me.....  :p :D :D
