new orleans, la is where im located, do you think a twin engine boat is to much for a first timer... I used to race cars , so I know how that goes, boats I am not sure, a little more maintenance, I guess depending on how you run..

Your H2 is a nice truck but it has no real tow capacity. I would say get something in the 17-23 ft range less then $10-15K. This way you can have a practice boat and if you hit bottom or bang a dock( like most have in first boating days )it will be no big deal. Learn the boat and waterways and launch/retrieve at ramp. Use the boat for a few months to a year(depending how often you can go out in it). Then sell it and get something nice. Your budget is very good for something pretty nice. Your problem will be your truck will limit you to 25-28ft. Do lots of research on what brands are out there and check classifies to see prices. Search this forum for great advice and the occasional no so great advice :rolleyes: :drink: . Good luck have fun and be safe. :cool:

More maintance but they handle much better around the docks with twins.
Living in NO, maybe you want to look into a submarine just in case......... :evilb: :drink:

28 Active Thunder or a 26 Sonic are perfect boats to cut your teeth on with plenty of amenities that will keep you from getting bored quickly. If you can pick one up with a 500EFI or similar; even better.
