I was at the factory in 02. At that time they where putting together a pretty good product. Build quality was good, mold work was so, so. The 28 cat is a newer mold and much straighter than the old v bottom molds.

I remember you posting on the tour with good info and pics. I think the 28 cat took over as the "flagship" boat for Profile.

LOL that could be! Did they just add the small center pod to the mold? Also they changed the hull in 2000 or 2001 and added different/more steps. Did they just put inserts in the mold? Just curious.

I couldn't tell ya! thats the info that I got from Randy the last time I was there. also said he had a shadow cat mold. But you gotta remember that comes from Randy Shultz and through to much experence with the farm boy I wouldn't put to much in it. With that said it also explains why the cats have straight and proper lines and the Vs didn't

Got ya. The 26 V I saw this weekend looked good but I didn't put it under a microscope. I really like their 28 cat.

After hearing all the neg comments on the thread I started, I chose to purchase a used boat, that had nothing but positive feedback from previous and current owners. Too much negative press and not enough positive customer feedback clinched my decision. VERY HAPPY WITH MY DECISION

You should be.I had one for four years and absolutely loved it.Best 25 available for the money.Great handling, large cabin, excellent freeboard, and gets on plane in an instant.Still miss mine.Currently own a 27' Profile which is a really nice one, but I am going to sell it next year and get a 32 AT.I love the layout and lines of all the Active Thunders and really miss that feeling.Pat makes a real nice boat.Enjoy yours,it is a very nice boat.
